24-Hour emergency deliveries, handled without delay, when every minute matters.

Yes, every Anchor Freights courier undergoes annual certification in HIPAA and Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) safety protocols.

We use medical-grade, validated insulated containers and Phase Change Materials (PCM) to maintain strict temperature ranges (Frozen, Refrigerated, or Ambient). We can also provide digital temperature logs upon request.

Absolutely. Our platform provides real-time GPS tracking and milestone notifications (Pickup, In-Transit, Arrived) sent directly to your email or phone.

We use a digital 'handshake' at every transfer point. We scan the specimen barcode and capture a time-stamped signature from the specific person receiving the item at the lab.

Yes. Anchor Freights is an 'always-on' service. We provide 24/7/365 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, for both scheduled routes and emergency on-call pickups.

We carry specialized professional liability and cargo insurance specifically tailored for the high-value and sensitive nature of medical specimens and equipment.

When transporting sensitive medical items, Anchor Freights prioritizes unparalleled safety, meticulous temperature control, and a rigorous chain of custody. Our couriers are certified in HIPAA and BBP safety, and we utilize validated containers with PCM to ensure integrity. Real-time tracking provides complete visibility, and every transfer point involves a digital 'handshake' to guarantee accountability for your valuable specimens and pharmaceuticals.

Getting started with Anchor Freights is simple. We begin with a New Client Intake process to understand your specific needs. This involves gathering your facility and contact information, outlining service level requirements (STAT, Routed, On-Demand), identifying cargo and temperature specifications (e.g., lab specimens, vaccines; ambient, refrigerated, frozen), and detailing destination and delivery protocols. We also clarify compliance needs like HIPAA/BAA and billing preferences. Our team will then set up your account, assign drivers/routes, and provide portal access. You can reach out to us at (571) 320-2322 or email us to begin the process.

To maintain our specialized expertise and ensure safety, Anchor Freights has specific exclusions:

High-risk pathogens (Category A infectious substances)

We focus on 'Category B' substances (routine diagnostic samples like blood, urine, and biopsies). We do not transport high-risk Category A pathogens, such as Ebola virus or Anthrax cultures, which require specialized government-cleared transport.

Hazardous waste

We are not a medical waste disposal service and do not transport used 'sharps' containers, red-bagged waste, or chemical waste from hospitals for the purpose of disposal.

Patient transportation (NEMT)

Anchor Freights is a cargo-only medical courier; we do not provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) for people. Our vehicles are optimized for climate-controlled specimens and equipment, not passenger transport.

Non-medical hazardous materials (HazMat)

Unless the item is directly related to medical treatment or diagnostics, we do not handle general hazardous materials (e.g., industrial chemicals, explosives, or flammable gases not intended for medical use).

Unpackaged or improperly labeled items

To protect the 'Chain of Custody' and driver safety, we cannot accept items that do not meet OSHA/DOT packaging standards. If a specimen is leaking or if the outer packaging is missing the required UN3373 (Biological Substance, Category B) label, we will pause the pickup until the facility properly secures and labels the item.

Residential pickups (Without consent)

For privacy and legal reasons, we do not pick up specimens from a private residence unless there is a formal agreement with a medical facility or laboratory, such as a pre-arranged "Home Health" service contract with a clinical partner.

Safety First: By focusing on specific medical categories, our drivers can be master-certified in the risks associated with your cargo. Compliance: Staying within our specialized "Category B" and "DME" (Durable Medical Equipment) niche ensures we remain 100% compliant with DOT and OSHA regulations. Efficiency: Specialization allows us to maintain the 36°F to 46°F cold chain more effectively than a general "everything" courier.

Anchor Freights transports medical specimens (such as blood and biological tests), temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, diagnostic samples, and high-value medical equipment. The company does not handle patients or medical waste.

Anchor Freights uses Active Thermal Management with validated medical-grade insulated containers and Phase Change Materials preconditioned to specific temperature ranges. This maintains ambient, refrigerated, or frozen conditions throughout transport, reducing the risk of specimen degradation and rejection.

The company operates under strict HIPAA, OSHA, and Bloodborne Pathogen handling protocols. All drivers are trained and certified in these standards, and Anchor Freights maintains audit-ready documentation for regulatory compliance and PHI protection.

Yes. Anchor Freights drivers hold TSA-issued TWIC® credentials, allowing them to access maritime ports, air-cargo terminals, military bases, and other secure sites without escorts, simplifying delivery logistics in restricted environments.

The company uses a Verified Chain of Custody system capturing hand-to-hand transfers with named recipients, digital signatures, timestamps, GPS coordinates, and bar-code scans. This creates a legally defensible proof of delivery for sensitive shipments.

Anchor Freights serves Northern Virginia, the Washington, DC metro area, the entire state of Virginia, and the wider Mid-Atlantic region, operating as a local appointment-based service within these areas.

Yes. Anchor Freights provides 24/7 STAT delivery services with rapid dispatch and direct-injection routing to ensure urgent medical shipments arrive on time, even during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Clients can quickly contact Anchor Freights via phone or email, or use the "Dispatch Now" call-to-action available on the website for immediate STAT requests. The company also offers streamlined booking forms integrated with calendar syncing for scheduled orders.

Anchor Freights employs Direct-Injection Routing, keeping each shipment in a single vehicle from pickup to delivery to minimize handling, mechanical shock, sorting errors, and delays. This reduces the risk of loss or damage compared to hub-and-spoke carriers.

Yes. Clients receive real-time GPS tracking with milestone notifications including pickup, in-transit status, and arrival. This transparency helps reduce uncertainty and supports operational scheduling.

Anchor Freights primarily serves hospitals, clinical and diagnostic laboratories, pharmacies, medical equipment distributors, government and military medical facilities, and secure infrastructure operators requiring compliance-sensitive, time-critical medical logistics.

Yes. Anchor Freights is registered with SAM.gov and participates in public-sector contracting platforms such as Virginia's eVA, enabling it to bid on medical courier and secure transport contracts.

Anchor Freights does not transport Category A high-risk pathogens, medical waste, non-medical hazardous materials, or improperly packaged or unlabeled items. The company focuses on specialized medical and secure cargo where it maintains expertise and compliance.

The company adheres to HIPAA-compliant handling procedures, including secured packaging, restricted access during transport, and documented chain-of-custody processes to safeguard Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times.
